The Great Lakes Seaway Partnership today announced the winners of their fourth annual photo contest. Coinciding with the start of the Great Lakes navigation season, GLSP is also announcing the beginning of the 2022 photo contest as April 1.
Each year, to celebrate the start of the Great Lakes navigation season, the Great Lakes Seaway Partnership invites boatnerds and shipping fans alike to submit their favorite photos of Great Lakes freighters, tugboats, and barges across the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Seaway System. In 2021, the Great Lakes Seaway Partnership received over 150 entries throughout the submission period, which began in May of 2021 and ended in January 2022.
The Great Lakes Seaway Partnership thanks all 2021 contest participants and invites them to participate in 2022’s fifth annual photo contest by submitting original photos to greatlakesseaway.org/resources/photo-contest. This year GLSP is encouraging a focus on highlighting the workers who keep the Great Lakes system moving strong – whether that’s on the docks or on a ship. The contest begins on April 1, 2022, and will end when the St. Lawrence Seaway closes for the 2022 Great Lakes navigation season. Winners will be announced on May 1, 2023.
