american-steamship-company

Founded in Buffalo, New York in 1907, American Steamship Company (ASC) has a rich history and even brighter future. Operating twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week during the navigation season, ASC vessels require no onshore assistance to unload cargo and have the capability to unload at impressive speeds – 7,000 to 10,000 net tons per hour. The diversity of their self-unloading vessels range in length from 635-feet to 1,000-feet enabling the transportation of multiple dry-bulk commodities including iron ore pellets, coal and limestone aggregates. Further, their single-trip vessel-carrying capacity ranges from 24,000 to 81,000 gross tons. Today, ASC continues to provide safe, efficient and environmentally responsible waterborne transportation.
